In our earlier blog, Early Warnings of Hydraulic System Troubles, we introduced the Parker SensoControl family of diagnostic tools. SensoControl diagnostic tools are designed to help hydraulic system maintenance professionals identify sources of slow operation, increased noise, and elevated temperature. This January, Parker announced a new enhancement to their ServiceJunior product - the color-coded cover.
The current color of the rubber ServiceJunior protective cover is black. In the near feature, the color of the cover will correspond to the pressure rating of the ServiceJunior meter. This will allow for easy visual identification of the ServiceJunior meter pressure range.
In addition, the color of the cover also loosely corresponds to colors of SensoControl pressure transducers. Parker has not yet released any literature, but presumably the colors of the ServiceJunior covers and transducers will correspond as follows:

Parker’s Quick Coupling Division is announcing the change as a “rolling inventory change”, which means that the part numbers will remain the same. The ServiceJunior meters with black covers already produced will be shipped first, before the color-coded versions will be phased in.
In practice, rolling inventory change means that customers will not know in advance which version they will receive. Potentially some meters with black covers, and some with new color covers, can be included in the same shipment. If this scenario presents a problem for your company please make sure that you clarify your requirements with our customer service reps when you place your order.
The color-coded covers will also be available for purchase, according to Dan Davis, Parker’s Product Sales Manager at Parker’s Quick Coupling Division. Pricing and release dates are not yet available, but we will post the updates once Parker announces them.
Besides the color-coded cover, the product will remain unchanged. The features are listed below:
